SUN SALUTATION
SUN Salutation Pavilion is a two-story, transportable artistic structure meant for people to gather and create new micro-communities within a larger setting. It is a space that is ideal for observing and connecting with nature and its immediate surroundings through the incorporation of gravity and varying degrees of sunlight. At Burning Man, for instance, space is best suited for leisure, as visitors spend their time observing the horizon of the playa. Both the sunrise and the sunset offer different experiences within this temporary city.
The goal of SUN Salutation Pavilion is not only to provide a way to connect with nature but to break out of one’s comfort zone and connect with new people. This pavilion is curated for interacting with the many diverse and creative members of the Burning Man society as the week of spectacular possibilities sets the stage to form vibrant new friendships.
This project is also aimed to have a global social impact, as another model will be built in low-income neighborhoods in Iran as a space for growth, connection, and observations. This prototype will be utilized by local neighborhoods to hold training workshops, promote their homemade products, or as an amusement space.
